What are Community Groups?

A Great Way to Connect...Community Groups are just one of many great ways believers are connecting and sharing life together at Dayspring.  Our groups create opportunities to grow together as the Bride of Christ through discipleship, building strong relationships, accountability, and extending God's amazing love to each other and the community.

Are you a Disciple?

We are each called to be disciples of Jesus.  A disciple is someone who is completely committed and passionate about following Jesus.  In Luke 9:23 Jesus said, "If anyone is to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."  The word daily is important.  It gives us the perspective that we are on a journey that requires our continuous involvement.  We have a choice each day to either follow God or not.  God doesn't promise that the way is easy or that we'll always be happy in our circumstances.  But he does promise that he will guide us through each day if we follow him.

Many Christians never understand what true discipleship is.  It's not a study or a ministry opportunity.  It's a daily relationship that requires our involvment and trust that God loves us and will walk with us through our highest highs and our lowest lows...and he will love us no matter what we do.  Are you trusting God daily?  Are you taking up your cross daily?

The information presented on this web page is designed to help connect people in the body of Christ to form life-changing relationships that are centered on God.  Relationships like that aren't likely to happen when we don't have a relationship with our Father first.  Seek him and trust him daily.

Why are Community Groups important?

Small Groups support Dayspring's vision of "Break, Battle, Build" by... Breaking down barriers by promoting a safe, friendly, cohesive, and trustworthy setting for small groups of believers to gather and share life together. Preparing for battle by donning the full armor of god through the diligent study of scripture, constant prayer, and the continuous act of 'submitting to God and resisting the devil' (James 4:7). Building lives by encouraging discipleship through mentoring and growing relationships that are focused on making men and women more like Christ each day; Building community by sharing life together and meeting the needs of fellow believers; Building the Kingdom by being the light of the world and imitators of Christ to every man, woman, and child in this world.

Are you ready to disciple others?

"Come, follow me" Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."  (Mark 1:17)  Is God calling you to disciple others?  Do you have a passion to follow Christ and a desire to take others with you?  There are many ways to disciple others from establishing a one-on-one relationship, to couples meeting together, to small groups and so on.  Don't wait for someone to tell you to act.  Follow God's will and step out!  If you are interested in leading a community group and would like help getting started please contact Jonathan Schlieper.
